Leka
is an island with a unique geology from the time faults in the sea
formed the island, one third are from the American continent and you
have to go over there to find the same rocks. Therefore, Leka also is
given the status of a geological national monument.
Leka can be reached by ferry from Gutvik,
a
fifteen
minute
drive
from
Bogen.
Crossing
time
is
20 minutes.
Sklinna
is an island located some distance out to sea, about 20 km from Leka.
Bogen Feriehus may, upon request of the authorities, organise day trips
out to this unique island with a bird colony consisting of several rare
species such as shags, guillemots and puffins.
You may discover whales, seals and otters
as well.
